Grief comes in all shapes and form, and is extremely difficult to deal with. As a foundation we want to emphasize the importance of support groups during your time in grief.
Having people who have shared similar experiences to yours can be extremely beneficial not only for yourself but also for the other participants. It provides a type of support that other friends and family can sometimes not provide.
As a family we have all found different groups that have helped us through our loss. We encourage all of you who are struggling with loss to do the same. It will never take away the pain but there is hope for a better tomorrow. BrighterDays Grief Center has been a very helpful resource for us. Located in Eden Prairie, MN this center provides multiple different support groups according for the type of loss. For those located in the Twin Cities and are looking for support this is an excellent place to start.
Another great resource is GriefShare. "GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone". While we haven't gone through this website ourselves, it has very good reviews and offers multiple locations depending on where you are based out of.
Keep in mind that there are multiple different forms of grief groups no matter where you are. For those in still in school, try to do some research about what your college or high school has to offer. More likely than not they will have grief groups for students.
